Participating Bands Featured on Paperfest Web Site
Paperfest regularly draws large crowds and this year's 24th anniversary event is expected to be the best ever. In addition, the Battle of the Bands
is being promoted locally via radio, TV and Internet, in addition to flyers and word of mouth contact. Participating bands will be listed on the Paperfest
website, with a link to your official band web site or MySpace page.

Here's how it works:
Eighteen bands will play three songs each to compete in the opening round on Saturday, July 21. Five finalists will advance to play a 45-minute set on Sunday, July 22. The finals competition will be held on Sunday, July 22. Cash prizes go to all the finalists, with the winner playing a paid gig at Octoberfest, second place to play a paid gig at next year's Paperfest celebration.

July 9th Deadline
Openings remain, but not for long. Bands wanting to compete should sign up now. Entries must be received no later than July 9th. Remember, there are only 18 slots to be filled, first come-first serve.

Paperfest Battle of the Bands winner awards include:

  • 1st place - $250, plus guaranteed spot at Appleton's Octoberfest '12 octoberfest
  • 2nd place - $200, plus guranateed spot at Paperfest 2013
  • 3rd place - $150
  • 4th place - $100
  • 5th place - $50
  • Band with Best Crowd Participation - $50
  • ** New this year- 3 best younger bands (15 and younger) will compete for $50 cash prize. **

Battle Guidelines:

  • Applications are open to any musical group ensemble with three or more members.
  • A first place Battle of the Bands winner may not compete again.
  • All applicants must submit one recording, either CD or tape, with four selections.
  • Total performance time is 20 minutes.
  • Original and cover songs accepted.
  • Lyric sheets for the four songs MUST BE provided.
  • Selections performed at competition MUST BE the same four selections that were originally approved.
  • Profane language or dress is not tolerated.
  • 18 bands are selected to perform at the Paperfest competition.
  • The competition will be held on the Big Hill Stage at Sunset Park in Kimberly, Wisconsin.
  • The qualifying for finals competition will be held Saturday, July 21.
  • The finals competition will be held Sunday, July 22.
  • Five bands from the qualifying competition will be selected to perform a 45 minute set at the final competition.
  • The BOTB will be videotaped and each band will receive a copy.
  • All Band Members will receive a BOTB t-shirt.
